How we write and check every paper
How every Test Papers Hub paper is written, checked and corrected.
Our papers are original practice material. They are not official past papers and are not affiliated with any exam authority. This page explains what goes into each one so you can judge how far to trust it.
1. We start from the published exam
For each exam we read the official specification or syllabus (for example the NSW Department of Education, NESA, VCAA, QCAA, College Board, ACT, UCAT ANZ, AMEB or CFA Institute) and record the format: number of questions, options, timing, calculator rules and sections. That format appears on every paper's cover. Exam bodies change formats, so we revisit papers when the published format changes.
2. How questions are produced
- Maths, numerical and logic questions are produced in house with computer assistance from families of question types, so the numbers, contexts and diagrams differ from paper to paper and from question to question.
- Reading passages, writing prompts, scenarios and extended-response questions are written in house for each paper, so papers in the same set do not repeat texts or stems.
- Every question has a step-by-step solution, an explanation of why each wrong option fails, and a one-line key takeaway.
3. How answers are checked
- For calculated answers, a separate program re-solves each question independently and the paper is rejected if the two answers differ. We also deliberately corrupt answers to confirm the checks would catch an error.
- For reading questions, each correct answer must be supported by a quotation from the passage, and the quotation is checked against the text.
- Format checks confirm the question count, balanced answer letters, no repeated stems and a takeaway for every question.
4. What we cannot promise
Some answers, such as the best response to a judgement scenario or the strongest reading of a poem, involve judgement. We explain our reasoning in the solution so you can weigh it. Practice papers cannot predict an exam result, and real papers vary from year to year.
5. Corrections
If you think an answer is wrong, unclear or out of date, email support@testpapershub.com with the paper name and question number. We check it, fix the paper if needed, and send corrected files to people who bought it.
